A musical force quickly becoming noticed & recognized for his unimaginable skill and artistry, Soto's a phenomenally talented cellist, composer, arranger and producer. His classical training, profound and passionate understanding of music theory, is a force of yesteryear in today's times. With works from classical, jazz to contemporary, his music gift is an effortless, musical stream of brilliance. Currently a composing, arranging and production assistant in L.A. to Megan Cavallari, Soto is a Berklee College of Music alumnus (Performance & CWP Contemporary Writing and Production '17). His most recent works producing, performing on and engineering 1 album and 2 singles for Canadian pop singer/songwriter Spencer Nicholson. Soto also performed on 2 videos of the singles he produced, Groove With Me Tonight & Going To LA.
Soto's composed, arranged and produced numerous classical, jazz and contemporary works, developing a strong reputation as a highly sought after musician. He is a founding member of the Teros String Quartet, and founding member, music director/composer for the chamber jazz group, CGC (Chamber Groove Company), their first album "Enigma" released in 2016, composed and produced by Soto.
He has worked alongside many professionals, from legendary saxophonist / educator George Garzone, classical cellist Patrice Jackson-Tilghman of the Mark O'Connor String Quartet and veteran L.A. session musician, guitarist Marty Walsh. As a member and founder of the Teros String Quartet, he's taught master jazz/contemporary/improvisation classes at the Valdres Sommersymfoni in Norway, and studied under Eugene Friesen of the Paul Winter Consort, Mike Block of YoYoMa's Silk Road Ensemble, Patrice Jackson of the Mark O'Connor String Quartet and Natalie Haas. A history of classical music excellence paved the way for Soto's virtuosity, serving as principal for the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, the Neapolitan Orchestra, and former member of the Berklee World Strings. Soto also studied under mentor, and Houston Symphony cellist Xiao Wong and served as co-principal/5 year member of the renowned chamber orchestra Virtuosi of Houston under U of H Moores School of Music directors Andrzej Grabiec and Franz Krager. Soto has also studied under Misha Quint of the Mann School of Music at Interharmony Music Festival, and with Washington Conservatory co-founder Miron Yamploksy.
A 4 year principal cellist his formative high school years, he received numerous accolades and awards - Texas UIL All-State, and the states highest UIL honor of music excellence twice - the Outstanding Music Performer Award. An accomplished artist/illustrator, Soto studied art for many years with his work featured/exhibited in select concerts and still contracted today by many, including many music artists for their merchandise and covers, such as up and coming female trumpeter Arnetta Johnson and others .
